Sacramento Food Bank Turkey Drive

On November 20th 2015, Atlas Disposal was one of three major sponsors for the 8th Annual Turkey Drive held by the Sacramento Food Bank and KCRA3. It was an amazing event being able to participate in the local community and give back to those in need. The community donated over 11,000 turkeys as well as canned and boxed goods! The Atlas team donated over 25 turkeys and volunteered at the event with goodie bags for everyone who donated. It was such a great feeling to see all the happy faces at the event and know that we at Atlas had a huge part in helping the community. We even donated a roll off dumpster for all the recycle materials at the event. Cant forget our turkey toters as well!

Thank you to all who participated and for your generous contribution!

Atlas Disposal with Children’s Miracle Network and Snowball Express

Childrens-Miracle-Network-LogoAtlas Disposal hosted 35 Children’s Miracle Network kids & their families at the air show rehearsal for the Capital Airshow Friday afternoon, providing them shade, food, drinks, and up front viewing.   Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick kids. In fact, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals treat one in 10 children in North America each year.

We also hosted a Snowball Express Snowflake event with 110 family members of fallen hero’s at the Saturday airshow.  Snowball Express started in early 2006 with a simple idea – to provide hope and new memories to the children of military fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11. Zero Food Waste with a Hot Italian

Hot Italian is one of our newest food waste customers we started back in March and they are a great example of a zero waste business!

What does zero waste mean? Hot Italian only generates food waste and recycling on site with nothing going to the landfills. Their food waste is fueling our trucks with compressed natural gas. Hot Italian is a leader when it comes to sustainability and their pizzas are AMAZING! Thank you ‪#‎HOTITALIAN‬!
